Thinking of McKenna

It's been a few days since McKenna's birthday...it took me those few days to write this post. McKenna would have been 3 years old this Christmas season. I come across her picture quite often on my computer and every time, the site of her stops me in my tracks. I can still remember the joy I felt when I looked at those same pictures...the hope, the love, the excitement...the promise of her new life with our family. And when I look at the same pictures now, all I feel is pure sadness. It still breaks my heart into pieces when I think of what happened to her.

So, as this holiday season goes on without McKenna in this world, we will think of her. And she will remain in our hearts....
